Tis The Season.....For Evictions!!! Fa, La, La, La, La, La, La, La, La!

As yes, can you sense it in the air? It is that time of year when we all get togther with our families and exchange presents. We celebrate the birth of our Savior. I love this time of year. The fresh snow, Christmas songs, all the yummy food. It seems as of late, that it is also the time of year for evictions!! A yes, just before Christmas and no home to speak of.....

I have evicted two different households in the past week. They both happened on the 17th of December. The first one, was a bit exciting with the male tenant using colorful words to describe me, while he was on the phone with his wife. As most of you know I am a property manager for a family that owns over 100 homes. We, (the sheriffs & I) woke the people up!! It was a quarter to 10:00 AM on a Thursday.
Now you may think me heartless or cruel to do it so close to Christmas, but they have had PLENTY of chances to pay their debt. Aaah yes, evicting people brings the Christmas spirit alive or at least it reminds of Mr. Scrooge or The Grinch. That is who I am these days. Dashing tenants' hopes of a Merry Christmas!!

The other house had a man, and some of his friends NOT on the lease living there...That tenant came back yesterday and was greeted by me and the police!! It was sweet! Two plain clothes swat cops and a sheriff cuffed him on the front porch!!! I have another home to evict the day AFTER Christmas. I decided to be nice and not evict them Christmas Eve. Ahh yes, Peace on Earth, Good Will Towards Men!!!

An Ode to Packing and to Tony.

Well, I have spent the last week helping Tony pack up his house. Really, aren't I just the best girlfriend? Helping him get ready to move away from me? I should get a gold medal or at least an engagement ring for that....He has been really sweet about it because he knows its killing me, having him move out of state and all. I have finally told my family that he is transferring, and their first question was, "so when are you getting an engagement ring?" Seriously, I think my family have lost their marbles!! They forget that I am divorced and that we have been dating for 10 months. Now granted, I am Mormon and living in Utah, so I should be married by now and expecting my first child according to Mormon protocol. I guess it shows how much they like Tony, that they want to hurry up and marry us off. I remember, when I first got divorced, that my family was telling me to take my time and make sure I get to know the guy before I become engaged. I might have a biased opinion, but I have to say, Tony is a really great guy. To think I found such a nice, kind, normal, handsome man on the Internet!! Who would have thought!! He is truly worth all the crap I have gone through with the divorce and other growing experiences I have had these past two years.

My No Good, Very Bad Day

So, yesterday was a really crappy day....to say the least. I had to go to the credit union to figure out the whole mess with my title to my car. I got it fixed finally and am just trying to register it. So as I was leaving, my loan officer called and said I needed to come back in. I thought I had backed straight back, NOPE!! I didn't, I backed into a 2008 Lexus. Yup, in the company car. Might I add that this is the SECOND accident I have been in with the company car!! The other one happening not too many weeks ago. Nothing happened to our car, but I munched the Lexus near the wheel well. I had to of course call my boss and tell him. As the policeman was talking to me and handing me my ticket, my boyfriend called. I told him I would have to call him back and hung up quickly. Once the police were done, I called Tony back and got some lovely news, he is being transferred to Las Vegas. Now we knew this was going to happen, just not in FOUR WEEKS!! Needless to say, I spent most of my day yesterday crying my eyes out over the accident and Tony. So, life is about to become a bit more interesting for me, with Tony moving and all....

Happy Black Friday

Christina got on my case about how I haven't posted a new post. I just think she was tired of looking at those pictures of New Kids. I really don't have much to say, except that I am tired and wishing I wasn't at work right now. That's right, I am blogging while at work. I am working a half day because apparently people want to look at rental homes in the afternoon after they have been up since 3 or 4 in the morning shopping. Really? Are you serious? The last thing I would want to do after trampling people to get to the "great deals", is go look for a home to live in. No thanks!! So here I sit, half asleep(cause Christina woke me up this morning!! J/K!) wishing I were anywhere but here. No one has called. My phone hasn't made a sound since I got to work. Why? Because everyone else decided it was a good idea to take the day off after a holiday!! They probably assumed that we wouldn't be showing houses since it is a holiday weekend. I have left messages for my boss on his cell phone that he has yet to return, why you ask? Well, he isn't working obviously!! It's a holiday weekend. Maybe I am just bitter, or still tired from the turkey? Who knows...All I know is that it is Friday, the day after Thanks Giving and I am stuck at the office!!!

Hangin' Tough

Yes, Yes, I have. I knew they would come back someday!!Yes, this blog is out none other than New Kids On The Block!! They are apparently performing tonight in Salt Lake Center at the E Center. I am not too ashamed to admit that if I had tickets, I would have gone, just for old times sake. My niece(bless her heart), had tried winning tickets for their concert so that she and I could go. Seeing their performances on television was amusing, not so much because they are so much older, but to see women in their 30's, holding up signs saying "I love you Jordan". It made me laugh. I would have done that back when I was 13, but not now. I remember going to a concert where Jordan did this very thing and swooned!! Yes, I swooned in all of my 13 year old glory!!!(Granted, if he looks like this now, I still might swoon, I can hear Christina gagging somewhere in the distance....) I had my room PLASTERED with their posters. I had the Jordan Knight Doll, the shoe laces, and I believe a pillow case. I even remember dressing up as a "New Kids on The Block Fan" for Halloween, and thinking I was so totally cool!! That was back when my hair looked like this Yes, I know all of you are jealous of that hair!!! Yes, those were the good ol'days. Now I am a 33 year old grown woman, I can't believe how time has flown.

Awww...Fall

I love Fall, it is my favorite season. I love the changing of the leaves, the crisp, fresh air, the abillity to finally wear sweaters and boots again. My dear roomie and I went around our neighbor hood and took pictures of the trees(in between her dropping her camera) and thoroughly had a good time. Yes, Fall is a great time of year. It is good for crunching leaves under your feet, drinking hot chocolate, eating pie and various other wonderful fall foods. I love Fall!!

Nothing In Particular

Apparently, some people go way to far with this! The following pictures are people's cats with homemade sweaters on! I like cats, just ask my family or friends! However, I have better things to do with my time than to do this to a pet, if I had one. Seriously? Why would ANYONE put a sweater on an animal? You can tell they look highly irritated. Besides, they have fur, which obviously was put on them to keep them warm.

This blog isn't really about anything. I did this instead of whining. See I told you my life is truly boring!! I need to get out more, especially if it has come down to me blogging about cats in sweaters!! This picture shows EXACTLY how I am feeling today. I will end with this very funny cartoon.

Things You Find On The Internet

So, I was just fiddling around on the internet and came across these pictures. You are all probably wondering why I am posting these particular pictures. He's a very good looking man isn't he?!!! Well, this is my nephew. True story, no lie, this is my nephew.

I use to babysit this kid. He became a model while I was on my mission. He was discovered while working out(No joke). He is a smart guy too. He has a bacherlor's degree in Political Science, went to school on a wrestling scholarship and now is in real estate. He also happens to be on the show "Flip This House." This is the picture and bio they have of him on their website.

"The latest recruit - Jeremy - is a former Abercrombie & Fitch model with a head for numbers. He's Than's right hand man in the search for good investment properties. This model turned acquisitions expert still has a lot to learn - his good looks and easy smile may charm the ladies, but not Than and Paul." The great thing about him, is that he is totally down to earth, and you would never know he was a model. He isn't anything like what you would think a male model would be. The reason I am telling you this, is that it is weird to see someone you know in magazines, on T.V or on the internet, especially when you know the person smiling back at you from the pages of a magazine personally.

Happy Birthday To Me!!

Well, today is my birthday. I know all of you that are reading this are so excited!! As I was looking for a birthday cake image to put on my blog, I came across some interesting cakes. So, I am going to post them on this entry and let you guys who read this comment on your favorite one.

This first one is of Chewbacca. I thought of you, Christina when I saw this. Only because you LOVE Star Wars. I think every Stars Wars Fan should have a cake like this on their birthday!!

This next one is of a guinea pig. This reminded me of that groom's cake on "Steel Magnolias". That armadillo? Why would anyone want a slice of guinea pig?

This one is of a Louis Vitton purse. I just thought it was cute. This is something my niece, sister or mom would have as a cake.

This one is very cute! This one goes along with the purse above. It's very fashionable.

This one is made of paper. This one is neither fashionable nor editable, but it would make a great center piece for a birthday party!!

This one is just entirely creepy!! Why would ANYONE want a cake of an eerily real looking baby? It's not even cute!!

Last, but DEFINATELY not least, is this one!! By far this is my favorite one!! It goes along with my Studs N Spurs calendar we have hanging in our kitchen. Maybe I should request my mom make this for my birthday cake?

I am so Thankful!! October 1, 2008

Well, I had an interesting experience yesterday. As some of you know, I am divorced. I still keep in contact with my ex-sister-in-law. She and I are good friends and her kids have only ever known me as Aunt Jennie. She and her husband are about to move to Calfornia for his military training for a year. We wanted to see each other before they left, so I went over to see her tonight. She just happens to be staying with her mom, my ex-mother-in-law. (Whom I adore). That wasn't the problem, the problem is that my dear ex-husband lives with his mommy too. So, he arrived home shortly after I got there and promptly went to another part of the house. After awhile, he apparently left and then called his mother to see if I would talk to him. He gave the lame excuse that he wanted to talk to me about my car(which use to be our car). So, I agreed to talk to him. Let me just say, I am so thankful he is no longer in my life!! My ex-husband was grinning ear to ear when he saw me and was checking me out the whole time I was talking to him. A blind man would have seen how obvious he was. I was not only uncomfortable, but also slightly queasy knowing he was trying to flirt with me. He then grilled his sister for information to see if I was single and available. Apparently, he thought I would be attracted to a man who lives with his mother and doesn't have a stable job? He forgot the reasons why he's my EX HUSBAND. His sister told him you don't and will never have a chance at getting her back. She also mentioned I was dating someone. He still is acting like he's sixteen. It has just made me that much more grateful for the wonderful man that I have in my life now. He is the greatest guy. I am sure some of you are gagging now, so shut your mouth!!

Doggone Funny!!

Okay, So this picture is hilarious!! Doesn't that dog look thrilled to be dressed up as a cow? Too bad I don't have a dog to dress up. Maybe my roommates would let me dress them up in funny costumes? Probably not. (Long sigh....) Oh well. Yeah, I really don't have much to say today. But I know I needed to post something. This reminds me, I used to dress my cat in my doll clothes. She didn't like it much. She would run around the house trying to get the dresses off of her. Those were the good ole' days..........

Oh My Gosh!!

So, as you well know, I am a property manager. With that job comes some interesting situations and experiences. Today, is just a day that I am going to rant. I spent an hour or so today in court with our attorney due to some tenants of ours contesting their eviction. They informed me that they will be counter suing us, this coming from the boyfriend who decided to move in and isn't on the lease. Which means, he has no legal basis for suing us. I find it interesting that people want to argue, when all the proof is right there in their lack of payment and my careful accounting showing no rent has been paid for the past 3 months. Anyways, my boss forwarded me a voicemail, from this guy (who last week told me that if he died of a heart attack, it was going to be on my head!! ) This because we were evicting him and it was stressing him out. It was my fault not his fault for non payment. This new voicemail informed us that he had left his wife and two daughters and that if we were still willing to evict a woman and her two children than we were obviously bad people and that it will be on our concience.(I know I spelled that wrong!) Seriously, what has happened to people in this world? I am so tired of people not taking responsibility for their own actions or choices. It drives me nuts.

Why Blog?

So, my dear roomate, Christina has been telling me to create a blog. Why? I don't do much except work. I am a property manager which is..... interesting. It goes against my nature to be forceful and sometimes mean(my roommate disagrees), However it is a good way to relieve stress. That, and I take great pleasure in making grown men cry!! Apparently, she thinks people will be interested in what I have to say. I am funny, like that blonde in "Singing In The Rain." Does that mean I have a high, whiney voice or that I can't sing? Anyways, this is my new blog.
